Joe Ellis Obituary – Accident: BGR Group Mourns Passing After Accident

Joe Ellis, a respected government and business professional, has died following an accident while supporting the U.S. delegation at the G7 Meeting in France. His death was confirmed by BGR Group, which described him as a valued colleague, mentor, and friend.

Ellis joined the organization in 2025 and was quickly recognized for his humility, professionalism, and ability to connect with people at every level. Colleagues say he brought calm leadership, humor, and a strong sense of purpose into every role he served.

His career in public service and government operations included high-level assignments involving presidential travel and international diplomatic events. He was part of advance teams for major global engagements, including visits and summits across Europe and the Middle East, and was widely trusted for his organizational skill and reliability.

Before his time at BGR Group, Ellis held senior roles in both government and the private sector, including positions with bp and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He also served as Chief of Staff to Representative Max Miller.

Originally from Mississippi and raised in Alabama, he was remembered by friends as someone deeply loyal to family and proud of his roots. Outside of work, he was known for his love of Alabama football and his strong relationships with those close to him.

He is survived by his mother, Jerri; his sister Cheryl and her husband Tracey; and his nephew, Noah.

In his memory, BGR Group announced a donation to the Fisher House Foundation, supporting military families and veterans.
